We are the Walton Class, eight Year 13 students: Kayleigh, Becky, Jessica, Hollie, Samina, Scott, Adrian and Maciek. We are learning about being responsible and safe in the community. We are also taking part in projects with Youth Action and are volunteering at the Town Hall and local residential homes. We get involved in the planting for Aylesbury in Bloom garden projects, cleaning at the St Mary’s Church and carrying out gardening tasks at local residential homes. We do weekly Work Experience at The British Heart Foundation in town.
We take part in Duke of Edinburgh activities and love hiking round Watermead Lake, hiking trails at Wendover Woods and cooking on trangia stoves. We also take part in Home Management activities such as learning to use applicances, shopping and preparing simple meals.
We’ve raised money for different charities through sponsored evetns; for example coffee mornings, soup making and walks.
We frequently travel on public transport to visit places of interest. We enjoy bowling and eating lunch out at different places. We love taking part in sports and enjoy regular football coaching, street dance and sports leaders.
We are looking forward to planning for our future bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award which will include an overnight practive and assessed camping expeditions.
