Isibindi class is the second years (Yr 13) at Harding House. We enjoy a varied and exciting curriculum working towards independence and moving on to the next stages in our learning. Usually we are very active in the community but in the current Covid-19 situation we have temporarily changed our curriculum to be more class based. We still, however, have a strong emphasis on functional numeracy and literacy and life skills. We enjoy sessions on home management and are still preparing ourselves for life skills. We enjoy sessions on home management and are still preparing ourselves for life outside of school. Learning about jobs and the skills required is helping us to learn more about the world of work.
We have a keen interest in current affairs, this helps us to understand what is going on in the world around us. This is further developed by sessions on ‘Our World and Our Place In It’.
In Yr 13 we start our two year cycle of the DofE Bronze Award. We have started our preparation for our Expedition next year. We also take part in a weekly volunteering session by working in the school garden and making resources for local Beaver and Cub pack meetings.
We are a lively class who enjoy a good laugh as well as working hard to learning new skills. We make the most of our space outside and take part in a wide range of off-duty and enrichment activities.
